Creative & Intentional Facilitator.
Kate enjoys facilitating creative writing, theater arts, and social justice workshops for afterschool programs, summer camps, schools, and university classrooms. She brings training in arts facilitation, most recently studying Inclusive and Collaborative Arts track with the 2020 Community Word Project's intensive Teaching Artist Project program. With both a masters and bachelors degree in Social Work, Kate brings theory and practice in effective facilitation and dialogue across difference, with empowerment and equity as central tenants. As an experiential Jewish educator, Kate has brought ritual, spirituality, and tradition to her offerings. In January 2022, Kate will be a certified yoga instructor and will offer embodied arts practices.
Workshops include: Spoken Word 101, From Page to Stage, Who Am I? Identity-based Writing, and Writing for Self vs. Others. Workshops can include, but are not limited to, topics of identity (race, gender, age, religion, etc.), social justice, and writing/performance technique, such as voice, rhythm, word play, staging, and other performance elements.
