At the core of my work as a writer, I seek to inspire vulnerability, connection and community.
My work is grounded in social work training.
NYU Silver School of Social Work / 2016
As a Masters in Social Work (MSW), I received training at NYU with a focus on Integrated Youth Behavioral Health and practiced my fieldwork at The Door - Bronx Youth Center. In addition, I facilitated an undergraduate course in InterGroup Dialogues under the purview of NYU's Center on Multicultural Education. I served as the student editor with NYU Silver School of Social Work's communications office, where I helped publish quarterly newsletters. Rutgers University School of Social Work / 2014
In my Bachelors of Social Work training, I studied a generalist approach with a focus on community organizing, where I built a lively Jewish Artist and Activist Community that introduced a variety of cultural events and new programs. I also worked closely with Robert Wood Johnson Hospital's Office of Community Health Promotion, Douglass Residential College (Rutgers' Women's Leadership Program), New Brunswick's Unity Square Neighborhood Revitalization Project, and Rutgers' chapter of the national United Students Against Sweatshops. Drew University / 2012
I studied English, education and sociology and played an active role in increasing student volunteering by promoting new opportunities at the Volunteer Resource Center. I studied best practices in community service as a Civic Engagement Scholar and built campus community as a Resident Assistant. I studied comparative history of race and the role of arts and religion in protest during the United States' Civil Rights and South Africa's Anti-Apartheid movements. |
